Wood chips as fuel

Heating sustainably with wood chips

Wood chips as fuel

Wood chips consist of 100% wood from different origins. Waste wood from the wood processing industry (e.g. sawmills) or from the use of local forests as a sustainable fuel source. As a biogenic, renewable fuel, heating with wood chips is CO2-neutral and conserves fossil fuels, which are becoming increasingly scarce. Machine-shredded, it is used to automatically feed wood chip systems using screw conveyors with spring blade discharges. Wood chip boiler are economically sensible from an energy requirement of 30kW and are therefore particularly suitable for larger buildings or heating networks. Biotech boilers are operated with wood chips with pieces of up to approx. 5 cm in size and achieve particularly high levels of efficiency.
